Joys and fears

I was able to see Philip on Saturday at the Seventh Day Adventist service. I don't agree with all the Adventist's beliefs, but they are a sweet bunch of Christians who have really loved on my husband while he's been going through this hard time.
My husband had decided to get baptized, so it was a joy to be able to witness it while I was there. He had been baptized as a child, but that was because his father wanted him to do it, and he went along with it because he didn't want his father to get upset. It wasn't until after that time that he really knew what he believed for himself and he's been wanting to get baptized for a while.
I'm really excited to see all the work God's doing in my husband's life! Philip has realized that he had put a lot of things before God in his life, and has been going through a process of repentance and growth. I think things will be a lot different for our family once he is discharged. It's funny, our positions have kind of reversed. At the beginning of the month he was really struggling, and I was encouraging him. Now he's encouraging me while I struggle! I've really been under attack lately, and feeling discouraged about the future. Philip is really trusting that God is going to bless us, something I've had a hard time believing this past week.
Philip has filed the paperwork to get discharged, but it will probably be another 2-3 weeks before it's official. Then we're most likely off to Oregon, as this is where Philip feels like God is leading us. I'm having a bit of trouble with this, as it's so far away from my family and the places I'm familiar with. Please pray that if a move to Oregon is God's will for us that a good job and housing situation will open up.
In other news, I FINALLY got my military ID today. Hooray! The process has been a real hassle since I kept getting told I needed certain paperwork, or didn't need certain paperwork. If my hubby was staying in the military I'd probably write a book on How To Get Things Done once I figured them out myself. For anyone out there whose hubby is going off to the military: have him do a general power of attorney with the JAG Officer so you can get your ID without him being there, and make sure he takes copies of all your documents (ss card, birth certificate, & marriage certificate) so he can get you into the system when he's being processed during his first week of basic. Anyway, now that I have my ID it will be a LOT easier to get on base to meet him for chapel. Another Hooray! :)

My husband has an uncle in Coos Bay, and so he's thinking of checking out that general area, and the Eugene area. At this point we could go anywhere, it just depends on where God leads us. It would be so awesome to be able to see you, Heidi! And Justine would be a lot closer, too. Maybe this isn't such a bad idea after all! lol

Oregon is sooo far away! Not that there's anything keeping you in Texas, but still.
This is a strange adventure you're going through. I think you're taking it very well.

I'll pray about all of this, as you requested. And it occurs to me that there is no greater sight in the universe than people who follow their Creator's leading. How pleased our Father in heaven must be with you guys!

Coos Bay isn't a bad area. For the Oregon Coast it's probably the nicer option.

We go there every Memorial Day weekend and camp for about 5 days. We love it.

Actually, we go to Charleston which is a teensy town just south of Coos Bay.

Oregon?! Well, from what I remember (spent a few years in Oregon and WA state growing up) it is gorgeous over there!
I'm glad that Phillip's doing well, and I'm praying for you Joelle. What an adventure... I hope that we can see you one last time before you guys leave. You're still planning on staying with you Mom for a bit before you leave, right?

What good news about your ID! Now are you taking advantage of the benefits while you still can?
